Crystal Palace Women have signed Puerto Rican international defender Caitlin Cosme, the first Boricua to play in the Women's Super League. The 27-year-old joins the Eagles as they sit sixth in the league with four points from two games.

Manager Jo Potter confirmed the addition. "It’s great to have Caitlin join us at Palace for our return to the top flight," Potter said. The move bolsters a defence that has yet to concede a goal this season, following a 1-0 win over Everton and a 0-0 draw with Arsenal.

Caitlin Cosme brings a varied career path to South London. She was the 10th overall pick by Orlando Pride in the 2022 NWSL Draft after a collegiate career at Duke University where she won an ACC title. She later played club football in Iceland and France before committing to the Puerto Rico senior national team in 2025, making her debut against Guatemala.

Cosme previously represented the United States at under-14 and under-15 levels. "Everyone has been so welcoming so far and I’m excited to just immerse myself in this club and in this community," Cosme said.

The signing comes ahead of a significant test this Sunday, 20 September, when Palace host fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur at home. With the team unbeaten and looking to close a five-point gap to leaders Manchester City, Potter will be hoping her new defensive option can help maintain a solid foundation.
